HMO with Remote Doctor Check Up: Online Consult

During the pandemic, we are all delighted that online check up was available. Now, even your health card can cover this feature so you don’t need to leave home. What are the HMOs with online consultation?

HMOs with Teleconsult Feature

Here are some of the health card companies with online consultation:

Maxicare Video Consult

This is one of the best offers of the company when it comes to online consultation. You can see your doctor live through a video chat. Ask about anything related to your symptoms and you can receive a diagnosis for simple health problems.

This feature is powered by Doctor Anywhere app so you need to download it first.

Medicard App

The company has a dedicated app so you can consult a doctor online. You can find the feature called Talk2Doc in its app to set an appointment. The feature is available to members based on plan.

Philcare Digimed Plus

This offering from Philcare gives you a single teleconsult with a doctor of your choice. It has a secured video conferencing feature so you can get privacy while talking to a doctor. Some of the experts available are urologist, internal medicine and rehab doctors.

There is also an Unli Digimed Consult at Php 999 for limited doctors (family med, internal med, general practitioner)

AXA

While not exclusively an HMO company, it also offers a dedicated feature of 24/7 consultation. The company is affiliated with MyPocketDoctor so you can talk to a professional anytime anywhere.

Are you ready to avail these online consultation features? Choose the one that fits your budget. In my case, I opted for the one with an easy to use app but with a wide selection of doctors.

Capstone-Intel reported that only 40% of Filipinos are having a yearly check up. But now that you can get covered using a health card, there is no more excuse to skip an appointment.

Things to Remember

Before getting yourself an HMO account with online doctors, you must consider these factors first:

  • Easy to download and use mobile apps
  • Reliable software even with slow internet connection
  • Has various kinds of accredited doctors
  • Convenient to get an appointment

We all need to find a cheap HMO but it should not sacrifice the features and benefits that we will get.

Although I have to pay more, it gives me peace of mind knowing I can talk to a doctor anytime.
