One of the things that I hated when I applied for a health card is check up and diagnostic tests. The sad part is I needed to pay for them before I can apply for an HMO account and wasted Php 800. Is there a plan that do not require medical check up?
What Hmo Type Is Right For You?
Select one of the following options:
No Check-Up HMO Application
You want to apply for a quick HMO but some of them will require a medical evaluation.
Maxicare’s Offer
I’ve found one agent that provided a quote for a 59 year old client. It is indicated in the plan that no medical evaluation is necessary for the price of around Php 25,000 for a regular private room.
Not bad because the total limit is Php 200,000 which I think is reasonable. But as you go towards a more expensive room, the price also increases up to Php 45,000 for a large private room.
Medicard Note
Medicard’s HealthPlus package claims that there is no pre-acceptance medical exam needed. But note that this is not for all ages. When I inquired, there is a laboratory test and diagnostic test requirement for 41 years old and above (as of this writing, this requirement is Waived).
Other Options
Of course, if you totally hate the check up requirement of HMO, you can simply get a prepaid card. In fact, this is my initial option because I want it quick.
When I applied online, it took me only a few minutes and paid it using my credit card. But note that you have to wait for about 203 days before you can activate it. Then you can use it right away for emergencies and accidents.
