Burn injuries can range from first to third degrees. As an emergency incident, you may need to go to the hospital for treatment. Are there any health cards that can cover the expenses?
What Hmo Type Is Right For You?
Select one of the following options:
HMO for Burns
Technically, a burn may require emergency room procedures to limit the extent of the injury and relieve pain for the patient. Most HMOs have ER coverage which may start from Php 10,000 and above depending on the plan.
iCare
The ER Care All-in prepaid plan is suitable for burn emergencies. You will be covered for ER fees, medicines and doctors’ fees. It mentions that accidents are included which we can assume to include burn injuries as well.
See the ER Care All-in features.
Maxicare
There is a benefit from Maxicare that one can use for burn injuries especially if it requires ER. The coverage will include doctor’s fees, medicines and ER fees.
Outpatient care is also provided for mild burns. You may consult an accredited doctor first and request for treatment options that the card can cover.
See Maxicare’s starter plan which includes burn.
Medicard
The RxER is suitable for this type of accident. The company can cover up to Php 20,000 per year in such a case. If the burn is mild and will not require confinement, you can also use this account for a consultation with a Family Medicine doctor, which is also free at their Free-Standing clinics.
Get the RxER from Medicard
No one wants to have burn injuries. But sometimes, accidents do happen and one way to prevent further skin damage is hospitalization. With these HMOs, paying for the hospital bill will not be one of your worries as you recover.
