It is undeniable that we Filipinos prefer to have a prepaid account for any types of services as stated in this Manila Bulletin article. It is more convenient and usually cheaper than postpaid account types.
Most prepaid health cards have a validity of one (1) year upon activation of the account. Some of them may have a grace period of 15 days after activation before the member can avail of the benefit coverage.
However, accidents and emergency room treatment are covered once activated. This means you can only avail the promotion once during an ER visit or treatment. However, some prepaid cards allow for multiple use for emergency room incidents.
The prepaid cards are available online. You can pay using your credit card or e-wallets. One may also avail the cards at any of the business centers or branches of the HMO company in your area.
Since the cards are prepaid, there is no need for a renewal. Simply purchase the same card so you can get covered for the next year.
