Who Has Health Cards?
In most cases, employees get to enjoy having a health card as part of their benefits. But even if you are not employed by a company, you can still avail individual plans from HMOs. It’s just the same, only that you have to pay your premiums in cash or credit card.
Now, will there be a difference when it comes to doctor access? There isn’t because the same network of doctors are available whether you are employed or not. Depending on your card, you can always find an accredited doctor so you can have consultation sessions.
It is best to initially call the clinic of your preferred doctor before consultation. Verify about their terms when it comes to health card use. If you are going to a hospital, there is a dedicated counter for HMO account holders so they can assign a doctor to you.
